Ms Nichols has held a range of Australia and Asia-based private and public positions. Over the past decade, her career has focussed on international trade promotion and facilitation, working for State and Federal-level Australian government agencies in Australia, Greater China and South East Asia.

Julie-Anne holds undergraduate qualifications in International Business and Chinese language from Griffith University and an MBA from the Queensland University of Technology.

Bonnie Shek
Director, AU & NZ,
Hong Kong Trade Development Council

Having grown up in Hong Kong, then living in Australia and travelling back & forth to New Zealand for the past 25 years, Bonnie understands the business dynamics among the three economies.  She leads the team to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in doing business in Hong Kong/China and further enhance the good trading relationship between Hong Kong and the Australasian region.

Tom Tsihlis

Export Finance and Insurance Corporation, EFIC

Tom has over 20 years of international experience in corporate and institutional banking in Australia and overseas with a focus on credit risk and portfolio management.

Tom Tsihlis joined Efic in 2009 and has held the position of Director or Credit Risk, Head of Execution and was appointed State Director for SME in QLD and NT in 2016.

Over his eight years at Efic, Tom has focused on helping Australian small and medium export businesses gain the financial support they need to build their export revenue.

Ashley Ng
Senior Manager, Market Development Asia,
Brisbane Marketing

Ashley has over 20 years experience in both Queensland Government sector and the private sector in Australia. Her extensive experience was in Sino-Australian affairs, international business development, business relationship management, trade facilitation, investment attraction and sales and marketing.

In her current role Ashley leads a team and works with the Brisbane Convention Bureau, the Leisure Tourism Brisbane and Study Brisbane to promote Brisbane as a destination for international students, leisure tourists and business travellers from Asia.  In 2014 Brisbane Marketing’s “Asia Strategy” won the Australia Hong Kong Business Association (Queensland Chapter)’s award for Business Development.
